Hello
I'm Tessa a Certified Play Therapy UK (PTUK) Play Therapist.
I love being a Play Therapist and feel privileged to be able to work with children and their families/carers in this way. In 2020 I was diagnosed with adult ADHD and I feel my neurodiverse brain plus my experience of growing up knowing I was different helps me to understand certain situations and responses. This plus the fact I had 3 children within 2 years and 9 months helps me to offer a level of understanding and empathy whilst being non-judgmental.
I try to spend about 1.5 hours a day walking my dog which helps to release any tension, on 3 of these days (or when I need it) I include a 25 minute run which helps me reset mentally. I also love yoga and try to incorporate this into my weekly routine, this helps me to be present. I also attend regular clinical supervision.
As I am a PTUK Play Therapist I adhere to their Ethical Framework and safeguarding guidance. I hold Professional Liability Insurance, am registered with the Information Commisioner’s Office and am DBS checked.
